The plot meanders a bit more than it maybe should, but I really liked this! Super hot, a different take on a royalty/commoner romance, a BAMF paired with a down on his luck prince, horrible fathers? What more could you want?!
Graphic: Sexual content
Moderate: Pregnancy and Toxic relationship

I enjoyed this story from the moment I started listening to it, once I started I didn’t want to stop. Roxanne and Mateo had red hot chemistry and I loved both characters. This book was also full of characters you love to hate and I enjoyed listening to the story unfolded and learning more about these characters. Scarlette Hayes did a wonderful job narrating this story.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the flip of the power dynamics in this one. The heroine is the billionaire and the hero is the guy who is helpless. I did not like the heroine one but for the first few chapters, but then I asked myself, “Why do I like billionaire heroes in marriage-of-convenience tropes but I’m uncomfy with the billionaire heroine?” It definitely challenged set-in-stone tropes and is very unconventional. I loved the writing, the character building. We go from hating both the characters to loving them. The buildup of their chemistry is slow, seamless, and scorching and the characters are all given depth wonderfully.
