I didn't expect this classic to be such a fever dream. There's so many elements to it and they're not exactly joined together in a way that always makes sense. But some passages were very entertaining, mostly the ones featuring Mephistopheles, who I think we can all agree absolutely deserved to have Faust's soul after all he'd labored for him (damn those nasty angels always stealing souls away).

Very difficult read and something I’d have to read multiple times in order to fully grasp. There are so many different elements to consider. I had to read it alongside a study guide and also google to help with the Greek mythology. I appreciated the challenge and I’ll read it again in 20 years or so when I’ve recovered.
