Once upon a time, I returned this audiobook because the beautiful proze and artful metaphors need to be slowly read, give a second glance and moon over.
But listening is practical, and the narration is spot on. This novel is marvelous mostly because the main characters are so well done. Everything fits: their jobs, speech, upbringing, friends, self image, hang-ups give one consistent picture. Even the unreliable point of view Luke offers, fits perfectly. I only have one minor complaint: Luke's group of friends is identical to Oliver's, and all nobel persons are equaliy weird and interchangeable.

Lovely read! I was in love with the banter and push and pull from the two mcs. I love how they protected each other and seemed to be really good for each other despite feeling otherwise at times.
I was lost with some of the British terms at times, but I enjoyed looking things up to figure out their meanings.
A few of the mcs’ stories really resonated with me, and I actually personally related to a few of them.
I really appreciated the character development and the fact that we got a queer romance story without the focus being on sex. It was very refreshing!
Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about this book. I’m nervous to see where the next one takes us, but I’ll give it a try!

found lucien to be extremely annoying and oliver to be exactly as dull as he was described. couldn’t get into it which is a shame because the concept is cute

What really makes this book fun is the cast of increasingly colorful side characters.

This book just made me laugh, a lot. Full of English characters that think they're kinda shitty, but are actually just a bit messy as humans and are quite lovely. Wholesome stuff, fun read.
