This is a lot to achieve in one book, plot wise. I feel like there was too much focus on creating certain moments and not enough time spent building the emotional landscape. I definitely felt like Justice’s conclusion was rushed, not fully logical, and left a lot unresolved with his family.

This was an absolute joy to read. It's sweet, genuine, funny and written with so much heart and care. The multiple facets of casual representation was a delight and I loved that, whilst it was discussed, this wasn't a book about transphobia, it was a coming-of-age love story between two boys navigating their passions with their identities and voices. It was also a story of friendship and family (I especially adored the dynamic between Spencer and his autistic little brother, Theo) and the power of being a team and having your teammates backs. Isaac Fitzsimons writing style was comfortable and effortless to read in the best kind of way and is someone I'd happily read more from in the future. This is such a joyous example of the multitudes YA contemporary stories can contain and I loved my time with it.

This is such a beautiful read about a much needed story that follows a trans boy finding his way in a world that doesn’t accept him.

This book was so sweet in ways that as a trans man moved me to tears. The progression of Spencer as a character was beautiful but also Justice’s growth in an extremely religious family was inspiring.

This book tells the story that so many of use experience.
