This one left me disappointed. Still.. 2 stars. And only because I love Magnus Bane.

I literally don't care that not that much happened in this book. I love Magnus so much. And if you don't think drunk Magnus and his flying carpet are hilarious, I don't trust you. This book gets extra stars for making me laugh out loud several times.

It was different from what I expected. Since Cassandra Clare collaborated with other authors for this mini-series, I knew it was going to be different from her writing style. I enjoyed looking into Magnus's past because c'mon, it was EXTREMELY fun reading about Magnus getting drunk! I think the writers had fun writing that part, because just when you thought Catrina was done with the explanation, there was more! It was a bit boring when Magnus and Ragnor were on the boat. And the last story was just there. We never found out why he got banded from Peru. It was a cute and entertaining story though. I liked it. I will keep on reading the other stories, because I do want to find out about the Herondales and all of Magnus's adventures :)

What kind of nonsense was that??????????
Why take a perfectly awesome character from a perfectly amazing series and spoil it???????????
Cassandra Clare made a grave mistake writing this spin-off with another author (Brennan's Unspoken was boring and confusing and she did the same with Magnus). Magnus from Mortal Instruments has nothing in common with Magnus in this book, and the writing style is off, and the humour is dull, so the book is highly non-recommended for all the fans of Mortal Instruments.

PS I usually don't write harsh reviews, but in this case my tolerance snapped - you can't go and spoil such a character.

"Let the magic of the guinea pig flow through you."
I have had this giant book (I got the bundled collection) for some time now, but it wasn't until now, that I needed books for a challenge, that I decided to try out two of them. This is the first one, and it is about what Magnus Bane did in Peru, why he was banned (and that ending.. well... *snorts*). We see him through various times, various adventures, each time learning more about Magnus and his magic, about his friends, about love and lovers. About his past (which was very interesting, just as it was interesting to read about his friends and how warlocks are made). I laughed so so much while reading this one. The characters are brilliant. :)
