This book was one of the best I've read in some years. It was funny, romantic and interesting. If I was to call it a "light" read it would probably do it a disservice in terms of people stereotyping it, but for me it was an easy read, probably because it was so good. It was sweet and funny.

Quick, lighthearted, funny read. This book takes a different approach on the typical love story. Don’s atypical life as a genetics professor is the perfect set up for PhD student Rosie to find her biological father as well as the potential to find love. They are two very different characters with clashing personalities but ultimately have the same goal of finding Rosie’s father (the father project). I found myself getting emotional when Don speaks about how it is difficult for him to feel/express love. But there were also moments that I was audibly laughing at (Dons sense of humor is very straightforward and dry). The whole time I was rooting for Don and Rosie to find love with each other! Excited to continue on with this book series!

As the mother to a young adult man with Apergers, this beautiful, funny, and well-written book hit more than a few chords. It's outstanding and I strongly recommend it!!!

i didn't expect myself to love this book as much as i did. when a friend asked me what i was reading, i told her it was something along the lines of, "if sheldon cooper decided he wanted to date." but it's so much more.

Delightful and a very interesting point of view. Fun read.

Hilarious book that does a very good job of showing how a person with Aspbergers might think. Good stuff. Obviously they're going to make a movie of this, it just begs for it.

Real rating: 3.5 stars in comparison with every book I have read, or, alternatively, 4 stars in comparison with every book I have read in its genre :)

Geneticist Don decides that, being wired differently, the best way to go about getting a wife; is to create a questionnaire to select the perfect woman: the Wife Project. What he didn't expect was his best friend, Gene, sending the completely incompatible Rosie into his life.

**spoilers**
I'm torn. I really enjoyed Rosie's character and despite myself disliking various aspects of the storyline I did have fun with the neat little wrap up by the end which was totally 80's Feel Good Romantic Comedy in it's feel. However, there are those aspects which really chaffed at me while reading. One was Don's constant use of BMI to analyze people immediately upon looking at them. For a character supposedly so up on sciences and such to the point where he even argues against the energy saved by solar power when you factor in the cost in materials and energies to MAKE the solar panels it was just irritating to read another author have main characters fully push into the Weight Equals Health crap. That aside it was too "neat" for me how Don was able to so easily just change his behaviors and somehow force himself into the mold of being the Perfect (or at least Socially Acceptable) human; though still obviously "himself" because he starts timing Rosie on his watch when she says, "Give me a minute". It felt like a definite rushed Montage of Self Improvement; which lends more to that 80's feel good romantic comedy feel I guess.

So, I liked much of the banter and flow of the story and, all said and done, it was a fast, fun read that I would still recommend to anyone looking for a cute romance with a few quirky characters and a modestly interesting search to find out the identity of Rosie's true father.
