I loved this book for the most part. I was a little worried they were going to "cure" his asperger-like symptoms by the end of the book, but that didn't happen. I did not like the ending that suddenly just fell off. I had to read it a few times and even then I had to look up online to see what had supposedly happened. I would still recommend the book, but I'd definitely warn that the end is a little odd.

Apparently I'm getting better at choosing books to read because I seem to be rating everything 4 stars and I have definitely not lowered my book standards.
funny fast-paced

Really fantastic book. I was hooked from the first chapter.

This was so great! I can't wait to see the movie.

I have a new favorite love story! I enjoyed every sentence of this book. The narrator, Don, is intriguing and sympathetic. I can't speak as to how accurate a representation Don is of someone with Asperger's, but most of the reviews I read found him believable. He did remind me of Sheldon from Big Bang - except that Don is more considerate, less arrogant, is in great shape, and a terrific cook. He is a very multi-dimensional, complex character. You can't help but cheer him on, and my favorite parts of the book where when he was succeeding without realizing it (like in the cocktail scene). The other characters--Rosie, Gene, Claudia, and even the Dean--are equally complex and intriguing. This is the rare book I've read where every scene fit perfectly, and the book was neither too short nor overlong. A real triumph!

Highly recommended! This is being added to my list of "favorite books ever."

I read this with my book club, I really enjoyed it, it was a lovely choice for our January read. Here are my thoughts in a nutshell.

Pros:
- I enjoyed the comedy of it
- I liked the focus on not fundamentally changing yourself for someone else
- That a relationship is something you need to work at but it still needs to feel natural, it struck a nice balance

Cons:
- I found the constant mention of BMI a bit much by the end, I understand why it was included but because there was so much focus on finding a wife it was predominantly women who were having this to describe them (because we were introduced to more of them than men) and it's cumulative effect made it feel like there was a real focus on a man's assessment of women's weight
- I guessed the 'twist' before the end but I still found it enjoyable

Who knew that quirky and logical/mathematical writing could make up such a good book?
Likewise, the two characters are written as such. Rosie, an incredibly unpredictable, fun, and beautiful woman. Don, an intelligent, very calculating, man who plans out his day by the minute and has the social skills of a panda in a room full of starlings.
I laughed, I smiled a lot, I sombered, I laughed some more. I didn't realize I'd like this book as much as I did but I really appreciated it. Here's a RomCom I'm down for.

It was neat to read this as a followup to The Bride Test, and it's great to see neurodiversity represented in protagonists. This was funny and charming, and a good companion to my evening walks with June Bug.

An interesting rom-com from a very different narration style. It's very interesting reading something from the perspective of an autistic individual, and how they navigate life & love. The secondary characters are also great, and I appreciate the depth they bring to the novel.
