Buku adult contemporary yg berbeda dgn yg pernah kubaca sebelumnya.
Di awal2 si tokoh utama Prof Don Tillman diceritakan memberi seminar ttg Asperger Syndrome. Aku mengetahui mengenai Asperger dari serial Parenthood, kemudian dari film My Name Is Khan. Nah mmg gk ada penjabaran kalo si Don ini punya Asperger krn POV nya dia sbg org pertama, namun kalo melihat dari aktivitas & keseharian dia, juga mengenai karakter & perilaku, si Don ini punya Asperger.
Isinya sbnrnya lucu menurutku krn Don dgn Aspergernya dianggap sbg org aneh oleh org lain, namun dia sdr menganggap org lain yg aneh. Dia membuat kuisioner untuk proyek istri, yaitu mencari wanita yg cocok menjadi istrinya. Namun sejak ketemu Rosie yg sangat gk sesuai untuk menjadi istri menurut Don malah membuat Don melakukan hal2 diluat rutinitasnya. Disinilah kelucuan2 muncul.

Read it in a day, but I wouldn't call it light reading. Don Tillman is unwittingly funny in his sincere attempts to understand other people and how they work. I laughed out loud at times and then unexpectedly teared up at others. A fun and funny story about how love can defy logic.
Absolutely loved this book. I couldn't put it down.
Say 3.5. Sort of Big Bang Theory meets How to Create the Perfect Wife. A funny read, but Curious Incident it's not, and I kind of agree with critics who complain about its trivialized, rom-com version of Asperger's.
It was a cute, quick read that reminded me of a romantic comedy. I'd recommend it as a light and fun beach read. There's not a lot to it, but the characters are fun and the story is cute.
It’s alright, like a 2.5, but I mostly just found too many similarities between Don and my own husband. 😂
This has to be one of the sweetest books I've ever read. The narrator, Don, is charming even as he makes social missteps again and again. I found Rosie lovely, and as flawed as Don, and was very interested in supporting characters Gene and Claudia as bits of their relationship were revealed. Truly, a lovely book.
I so enjoyed listening to this book. It was a very interesting way to look at finding the right one. Just because someone is right on paper does not mean they are a perfect fit. This concept is very hard to accept if you are a Black and white, fact-based person. In a funny way this reminded me of a grown-up "Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night."
So much fun! A book that reminds you that every person, no matter how quirky, is lovable if you really get to know them.
Cursing myself for letting this book sit on my shelf for 2 years without picking it up. This witty romance is hilarious and adorable. At first I thought Don was reminiscent of Sheldon Cooper, but Don Tillman is his own breed of socially awkward genius.
I loved every aspect of this story: Don's journey to discovering love, the small scenes such as the bar tending experience which became integral to the plot, Claudia's mother-like guidance, memories of Daphne, Rosie's journey to finding her biological father. Everything was just written so beautifully. This is a refreshingly fun story to read after seeing a lot of of tragedy-filled novels out in the literary world.
