This is a top tier thriller!! I am absolutely impressed. There are a lot of complexities. I love reading this book in the POV of women. I’ve read another thriller from pov of the women around the killer but that book was way darker and harsher. This one kept me on my toes. Even though knowing nothing about being kidnapped, reading the struggle of May and not sure what to trust and who to trust seemed so real. I found it humanizing and also terrifying. I think what was so captivating is that this man yes violent, and horrible, was also portrayed as a regular guy who can carry on a normal life which is how serial killers can blend in. I think that’s what makes this book so terrifying and such a great read. I truly did not know what was going to happen. And this isn’t as dark as it could’ve been and I’m glad it wasn’t gory.

I think it’s funny I read this after The Last House on Needless street because the plots are kind of similar? I enjoyed this one much better though as it felt much more unnerving.
