Giving this a solid 4.25 for now! Took me forever to read cause I’ve realized I just don’t read over the summer. Happened last year with bloodmarked too. So I can’t really remember earlier parts of the book as well and if I would’ve read it faster I might have different thoughts!
But overall loved the representation about adult entertainer industry! I found at the beginning the whole good girl thing was a bit icky but finishing the book it was more for her character development, at the time I was like this feels icky and like she’s being sexualized for being “pure” but I don’t think thats what was happening? Again long time ago I don’t remember, plus that stopped as the story and characters grew!
When the characters were first thinking “I love them” I thought that was a bit soon but again I’m probably forgetting things that happened earlier. But at the same time she was there for the summer only 3 months? Soooo anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️ fun spicy rom com, I was in the mood when I did want to read this summer, for more real life/deep/emotional/non-fiction vibes (next read is going to be all about love by bell hooks lets goooo) so that probably also contributed to me not reading as much but I wanted to get this done first so I could finally return to the library lol
The writing was easy to read but not “childish” just had a good time reading this!

This isn't this book's fault. It was a Bit Much for me, but I don't know why I didn't click that going in. I was tricked by the cutesy cover. Also I'm in a reading sluuuuuuuuuump which didn't help.

Sometimes the risks you take may not always pay off in the ways you expect. Clara took a huge risk leaving her life to follow her childhood crush and now she's not certain it is going to pay off. especially when she finds out her roommate is in a risky business. The Roommate is a romcom that mixes the step ford wives and Magic Mike. Danan gives humor, romance, steamy love scenes but does not shy away from the taboo subjects in pornography. Danan tackles the genderism in the adult industry which caters to male interests rather than the female. Clara is the stereotypical romance lead and is countered perfectly by Josh. He is the right amount of Magic Mike and guy next door. Even with the great chemistry, they do lack a little substance when it comes to depth and history. Most of the interaction is shallow and can be a little on the side of predictable. But the fast paced plot and 50 Shades sexual innuendos help to keep the reader engaged.

It was like fine. Giving very much Wattpad sometimes things she would take longer to describe I was like Bruh no one cares
