Review to come

Leni and Griffin have been friends since childhood, both now living their dreams with Leni being the Librarian and Griffin the firefighter.
Leni is the girl who always sees the good in everyone, the only problem, she loves her best friend in a forever way, but she starts to notice that Griffin is saying things that make her think maybe he feels the same way. Her Nan has been pushing for Griffin for years saying she has to risk to gain.
Griffin adores Leni, he’s been dropping that he wants more than friendship with her but Leni being Leni isn’t seeing it, Griffin has waited his life for Leni and he doesn’t mind waiting longer while she works it out.
The whole town can see that Leni and Griffin love each other and are the perfect couple, but Leni just isn’t sure with what she’s been through if she’s prepared to take the risk and maybe lose her best friend. But when life throws her a curveball Leni has to decide whether she can let go of her fear of people leaving and take a chance with Griffin.

"Overdue" by Miranda Elaine was a charming best friends to lovers romance that featured endearing, relatable characters and plenty of humor, though it managed to tug on my heartstrings too. Main characters Griffin and Evangeline (aka Leni) were so cute together! I adored their witty banter as well as the way they knew each other inside and out.

The book's secondary characters were just as much fun as Leni and Griffin themselves, and they added a lot of depth and humor to the narrative. I wish I was half as adventurous as Leni's Nan now, let alone when I'm in my 70s! I also enjoyed getting to know Leni and Griffin's new neighbor, Parker. Her niece Mikaela was hilarious, and I loved the friendship she developed with Leni's grandmother. Hopefully we'll see more of Parker and Mikaela in a future book; I'd love to know how Mikaela came to live with her aunt.

Overall, I very much enjoyed "Overdue" and recommend it for fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy. This was the first book I've ever read by Miranda Elaine, but it's safe to say it won't be the last. I look forward to discovering what she writes next.

Overdue is a new romance by author Miranda Elaine. A sweet best friends to lovers story between a firefighter and a librarian.

When Griffin and Leni met when they became neighbors at 9 years old, and they weren't exactly friends, I mean what young boy wants to be forced to hand out with the quiet new girl instead of his buddies. But as they get older. As they got older they formed a strong friendship and became inseparable. Leni doesn't have many people in her life that she loves, so she's more than hesitant to lose one of them. When they take their friendship to the next level with she be able to handle the unknowns of their future.

"But the way he's looking at me right now. God, he makes me want to risk it all just for this moment."

I have so much in common with our heroine Leni that it put a smile on my face. She lives on coffee all day, always has her face in a book, introverted, if only I had a job as a librarian we would be twins lol Her major problem lies in the fact that she is so afraid of the unknown/ the future that she stops herself from really living. Then we have Griffin, hot damn, that man is the complete package. A sweet, caring, sexy firefighter who is always puts Leni first. He was just so nurturing when handling her, that is until the take the next step in their relationship. When the clothes come off, the words of our gentleman Griffin get dirty in the best ways.

"That's all I ever want to do, take care and protect her like she's the most precious thing in the world because to me she is."

In the end, Overdue is a sweet low angst, mildly steamy, friends to lovers romance.

Ahh this story gave me all the feels

Best friends

This was so good! I read it in less than 24 hours. The progression of the story was perfect. I instantly fell in love with Griffin. There was more than one unexpected twist.

The sweetest!

I am a big ball of mush after that perfect ending!! This entire story is beautiful. It’s real and raw with the perfect amount of humor. I loved every minute of this book!! So good!

This was a super quick read that I started last night and finished today. I used it for a PopSugar prompt as the main character is a small town librarian which I think is something I would love to be.

A friends to lovers romance which had some cheesy moments but since I read it so quickly, clearly it was not a terrible read, fairly short at 202 pages. I bet every girl would love to have someone so devoted to them as Griffin is to Leni.

Rating: 4.5 Stars

Leni is all about the book. She reads work by an author I’ve never heard of before. Will have to check her out. She goes on to mention an app that is an actual thing – something else I’m going to have look into. Griffin has been told to do something that turns into more. There’s a third character here that you’ll want to keep your eye on.

Leni is a woman that I could really connect with. And not just because of our love of books. Part of it was the connection she had with her grandmother. Nan is a real hoot and she reminded me of my connection with my own grandmother. Griffin seemed to sit in the background but at times I could almost hear him say “hey, I’m here”. He wasn’t a character that stood out but he’s not one that disappeared into the background either.

One pleasant surprise was that I’ve discovered a new author. This may be my first by her but it won’t be my last. She has a way of getting her readers to connect with the people she writes about – like they’re everyday people with an everyday job. She gives you just enough information about the town they live in that she makes you feel as if you could fit right in with Leni and Griffin’s neighbors. Without much effort she’ll get your heart involved and how can you even think of turning away until you know that everything is going to be alright. Getting an ending that leaves you with a smile on your face is just icing on the cake.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

I've got one word: vanilla.

If that's to your taste, have at it.

If that's not, or you require a little more oomph to your ice cream preferences, then I'd pass.

And that's all I have to say about that.
