It’s not very often that I come across a main character I don’t like, and Lib very quickly made it on that list! Not caring for Lin’s character made the book difficult to read. And it moved so slowly! It wasn’t until the last quarter or less of the book when I actually started to care how it turned out. The ending was too neat and packaged for my liking.

I'm not sure why I kept reading as it took until about 3/4 of the book to get SOMEWHAT interested. It was very repetitive. Every day Lib goes to see Anna, everyday she doesn't eat, every day Lib frets about it, every day the girl gets worse. The ending I didn't really expect. But I was more happy to finish the book and get it over with. It was rather boring. I honestly wouldn't recommend this to anyone to read.

This is a story about faith, an unchallenged faith, of a child who are trying to rise above the materialism and physical needs of this world and the 2 female nurses trying to get a glimpse of the sacrifice. What's the motive?

maybe i'm missing something, but if i'm a few chapters in and i dont like or care about the main character, that's not a good sign. if i'm listening to the audiobook version of a novel that takes place in Ireland and the narrator *really* can't pull off an Irish accent..... I'm out.
