Although this is considered book 3 in the series, it takes place in the 'missing' months at the end of Antidote. I didn't realize it at first but quickly caught on.

This book is shorter than the first two but extremely satisfying. The one thing I admire about the author is the way she balances her sex scenes with plot. I never find myself wishing for one of her sex scenes to end so I can find out what happens next. Having that right balance isn't easy to do, but Ms. Pyke makes it seem that way.

This is Jack's back story. It's answered many questions and made me fall that much harder for him and Gray. It's again a dark story, but also filled with humor. I found myself laughing and crying, sometimes at the same time.

I know these characters aren't real, but I can't help but want to pull young Jack into my arms and tell him he's okay the way he is. As a mom, some of his interactions with his mother were really difficult to read.

I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I hope we don't have to wait too long.

I am emotionally drained. Being in Jack's head is exhausting and interesting at the same time. This book made me understand Jack better and love him even more. I missed Jan and Gray but i understand we needed this book and Jack needed this book.

The writing in this one is good and i didn't find myself lost between the scenes like the previous ones.

We get to know about Jack's past as he undergoes 6 months of therapy, and damn the guy got problems and problems.

I loved the Therapy sessions, they felt authentic.

Overall it was a good read and i liked it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the insight into Jacks mind. Seeing how his childhood influenced and brought out Martin was fascinating. You can tell a lot of research went into this book. Can't wait for Gray matters!!

In the aftermath of [b:Antidote|18751334|Antidote (Don't..., #2)|Jack L. Pyke|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1383532083s/18751334.jpg|26638783] Jack is in serious need of therapy as a sectioned inpatient at the MC psychiatric facility.

Here we go back to Jack's youth, before he met Gray, and the horrors that shaped the PTSD, OCD, DID, ODD, survivor he is now.

This story helps us understand Jack better, how he got to where he is, and is told solely from Jack's pov.

This is five stars for the care and attention to detail of Jack's stay in the care of Dr Halliday and Craig and the brilliant unraveling of Jack's past, and the gaps that needed filling to see the whole man.

I'm now in hangover mode.........
