Not my usual cup of tea, this book grabbed my attention from page one. I laughed, I choked up. Just one of those books that is so engaging you don't want to put it down.

There were a lot of moving parts in this book. They all eventually came together nicely and I came to enjoy all of them, even the intellectual dog. All of the main characters were extremely likeable to me and the book had a lovely cyclical property to it which provided the type of closure that I love while reading books like this one.

Really enjoyed this book.. I didn’t find it overall funny like it is described. But I loved the approach to such serious topics and the insight of life as a women in the 50s/60s. I also think some content warnings should have been involved due to such graphic scenes in the first few chapters of the book.
