I think I went into this book expecting a little too much. everybody knows how much I love Norse mythology and Vikings and this had everything I was expecting for a perfect five star read but it just didn’t hit the nail on the head for me.
I found the main female character irritating. The king was an absolute annoyance. He was like a petty school child. I liked the main male character for most of the book but then he started to annoy me as well. I just didn’t get the feels that I was expecting for this book.
The only thing that made me give it three stars was the ending was pretty good but I’m not even sure I want to read book 2 so I’m gonna see how I feel after a couple more books to see if I’m still thinking about it or not.

While its not my favorite story… I will definitely continue with book 2 to see how this plays out. Right now Bjorn might be more hated by me than Tamlin… which is tough! A little less blood & more world building would have earned another star from me.
