Runner 13 is a fairly fast paced thriller with a dual POV and lots of twists and turns. The race itself is fabulously intriguing and the descriptions made me feel like I was on the race despite having no knowledge of the sport. The characters are also all interesting with so much drama that it makes it hard to decide if you trust, or even like, any of them. I enjoyed that all the loose ends were wrapped up nicely but without a boring HEA and that it left a slightly uneasy feeling in your stomach.

Firstly thank you to Amy for providing me with the ARC. It has been such a pleasure to read!! I was hooked from the very first page!! This was such a wild ride I didn’t know what was going to happen and I was in the edge of my seat the whole time!

I really enjoyed this book, after hitting the halfway point it was hard to put down! The characters were interesting, the twists were twisty and the story was engaging and that's all I need in a good thriller! The setting was unique which made the book that much more interesting.

(My only constant point of annoyance is that Hiroko is a female name in Japanese and it was weird to see it used for a male runner in the book. I don't know if it's because the author didn't do her research or she has a genuine reason for using this name.)

I’ve never read a thriller but this probably won’t be my last! I loved the nods to long distance running too. So beautifully described, I’ve never done races like that but she made it feel real.
