Not my favorite book in the series. Quinn and Vance are a cute couple and I really enjoyed the beginning when Quinn was so flustered by Vamce. But the end was eh.

This was another good installment in the Puckboys series. As with all the recent books within the different series within this universe (Puckboys, Frat Wars, CU Hockey, Fake Boyfriend, standalones and probably more), I think there are too many couples and characters to keep up with. Overall this book was good but didn't blow me away.
Vance and Ayri were a nice couple and although they aren't one of my favourites from this universe, I enjoyed their story enough. Despite having a couple of reasons not to date (kinda not allowed by the faculty, and potential power dyamics between pro hockey player and team trainer), I liked how when they did decide to date they didn't try to hide or keep it a secret. I liked how we didn't have a load of angst and worry added to the plot just for the sake of it.
One minor thing that could just be me misunderstanding - I wasn't sure what ethnicity Ayri was and given that he randomly tells Vance what his name means in Arabic, I feel like it should have been included. It seems like a random addition to an unrelated conversation if he is white. This conversation made me wonder whether I missed something else, but I checked and his ethnicity is never mentioned in physical descriptions or in references to his upbrining or family. It could very easily be that he was just interested in what his name meant in different languages, but if he was middle eastern I think it was a miss to not include that in some way in the story. Ice hockey is a very white sport so if he is middle eastern, I can't help but feel like that would have come up at least in casual observations or with a more involved subplot.
