I'll be honest, I've had a crush on Rebecca Keane for years and the fact that I was privy to all of her thoughts, feelings, and emotions has strengthened my crush further. She's classy, brilliant, humble, fierce, empathetic, reflective, and compassionate. Being able to be up close and personal with her as her growing feelings for Sabine conflicted with her morality (and the awful Military rules) was really quite special. This book is raw, powerful, and emotional and it was a truly brilliant ride! Thank you EJ Noyes for sharing Rebecca's story!

Not to be dramatic but I’d literally die for Lieutenant Colonel Rebecca Keane

I just finished the whole series and it’s worth it! So nice to follow along Sabine and Rebecca love story and to see Rebecca point of view in this one. However I was a bit disappointed when it was only the reminiscences of the first book. I wish it was her point of view during the two first books and a pick of what their lives looks like in the future with Sabine out of the military and Uber sister finally in a relationship. Maybe in a futur book

Although I loved Rebecca’s perspective, I must say some parts were boring. It’d actually have been great to have the split perspective in book 1 with Sab and Bec (although it wouldn’t have been such a good surprise when Bec admits her feelings to Sab). I think if I had read this as a stand-alone maybe i wouldn’t have felt bored. I think it’s related to the fact you experience a lot of the events from Sabine’s perspective in book 1 and some parts feel a bit repetitive.
However I loved having Rebecca’s perspective for some of the things happening and I still deeply enjoyed this book (and series as a whole)

Did I need Rebecca Keane's point of view of the events of Ask, Tell? No, but if EJ Noyes wants to give me this glimpse into one of my favorite characters, well, then, who am I to argue? Plus it gave me the chance to spend more time with Amy, so I can't really complain.

Chronologically, this begins before the events of Ask, Tell but then quickly starts to overlap the timeline. There's nothing incredibly groundbreaking here. In many ways, this felt like an homage to Sabine and Rebecca rather than a necessary part of the series. But it's also an EJ Noyes novel, which means it's really well written and somehow feels new, too. And I'm incredibly grateful for it. Although having to wait forever for the Jana moment was incredibly hard for me.

I don't have much else to say. If you're a fan of the Ask, Tell series, this is an absolute must. If you haven't read any of the Ask, Tell series, then why are you still here? Go read the books. You can start here or with Ask, Tell. I don't think it matters all that much. What I do know is EJ Noyes' words are far better than mine.

The "Ask, Tell"-Series makes me want to find the perfect words. The story deserves thoughtfulness, because it provokes it. Even after I finished a book I still find myself thinking of Rebecca and Sabine, about their struggles, their unending support and love. How hard they have to fight a unfair system, fight their own fears, they have to fight fate and ill circumstances. And after all that, they have to fight for their relationship and health. It is really an incredible story full of hardship.

But these books are not dreadful, like many other dramas can be. It's not emotionally exhausting. You read, you cry, you clench your fists, you laugh and after some time it's over and you hope they'll live a long, happy life with less worries.

If you like Noyes style, I implore you to grab these books, take some time and dive in. Sometimes it's good to cry and to think a little bit about life and fate.

I was afraid of reading much of the same. This is Book 1, but form another perspective, so the story is already known to us readers. But Rebeccas point of view is interesting and brings so much new emotions into the mix. And we learn so much more about her drive and her heart.

I'ld love to read more like this, but I also desperately want Sabine and Rebecca resting.
