I see a lot of flaws in this book, especially if you look at it from an objective perspective. Did I enjoy it though? Absolutely, sometimes you just need to indulge in fanfic-like books so my rating is very personal this time.

I'm reminded of leckie's letter to vera on guadalcanal. There are things men can do to one another than are sobering to the soul. It is one thing to square it with god another to square it with yourself. I read this in almost a single sitting and felt a whole lot of things about it that i can't really articulate here. But wow. Astonishing. the maud stinger at the end though...let's not alice!!!
