Read for Librarian Book Group
One street, two kids playing, two houses, two visitors, and Magnificent the Crow continuing her declarations about everything. This is how picture books are done!

I read this because I'm taking a class from the author in the fall and I wanted to learn more about her writing. This book is absolutely gorgeous. I knew nothing about it going in, and within the first few pages I was tearing up and it made me gasp with it's beauty and truth. We have all had that experience where something extraordinary is happening to us and yet life goes on around us as usual, and this book captures that feeling brilliantly.

This is a lovely warm picture book that shows a neighborhood. In it, there are two families receiving doctor visitors. One is there to bring a baby into the world and the other is there to ease a beloved pet out of the world. This is handled very kindly for both families. Bonus- one of the families has two moms and is mixed!

It's just an ordinary day in the neighborhood. Life ends....life begins...and I'm in the big ugly cry. XO

Absolutely gorgeous, both in art and the quiet power of the story.
