As soon as the MMC bragged to his mate that he took her V card, I was put off by him, and that pit me off for the rest of the book. (Listen, I love an unhinged MMC, and you may laugh that, that is what puts me off, but it does, lol)

There was no character development. We got a snip of the past that created both of them at the end and no growth. They were “adults” but Cade had tantrums when Lily tried to put boundaries up. Her friend Alice said it perfectly “you only think you like it because you have nothing else to compare it to!” (Since she was a virgin) Speaking of virgin….. I know in stories that is like “oh holy” innocent blah blah blah but then why is the first thing you use is a wrench and… not… yourself?? I was excited about some carnival/circus fun but the closet thing was the tent scene where randomly the other guys watched? And who were these guys? Idk if it’s a kink and I’m not trying to ick someone’s yum but the whole “clean yourself up” we gotta go or ect… where’s the after care??

This is one of those books that you cannot stop reading it, but you also do not want to be the main character. I was sad that there wasn't any character development for the main male character. It seemed like it was just an extremely abusive relationship where Lily just pretended to like it in order for the book to keep going. The scenes were very well written though and very graphic which is why I give it a three star.

plot wise pretty bad, the spice was okay. Second carnival themed book in this genre and the other felt better compiled/steady flow.
