I read this book because I was told this had the greatest plot twist of all time. I was vigilant from the start and kinda knew something was off with Maven although, he really is someone I could adore, if only his mask was true. Poor Cal. I was swayed to view him differently too. I just think that this book is half brilliant but also half-poorly executed. I came out more in love with Cal at the end, it's just that nothing about this really compels me. I admit that I really like the idea of these powers/abilities that the Silvers and half Red-Silvers have. I've always been astonished with powers and how much of it could be so diverse and amazing and this book certainly played with that. I was born in the early X-Men generation and so I'll always be fascinated with these special abilities. I just don't think this book just shines in comparison to any other fantasy/dystopian YA out there.

A perfect read. This storyline is well executed, to the point that I’ve now read this series three times and haven’t gotten bored of it.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this book, it’s not what I usually read at all. LUCKILY I was pleasantly surprised and ending up loving it

I loved this so much. I don’t know what took me so long to finally read it. Love the strong female lead, the war, the frustration, I even love the love triangles!
