This was a fun read with horrible characters that are so inflated, it's laughable and ironic, and very intentional. If you peel back the layers of the story, what's revealed is the very real socioeconomic issues between the elite and the rest of us. (Example: The rich people live in a beautiful glass mansion in Hollywood Hills and just under that, is a hidden guest house that they had to build to keep the mansion from falling, it's also the guest house that shelters the poor people this rich family chooses to be part of their game and ruin...quite literally the elite hold their wealth/power at the expense of the poor.). You see how people rationalize and justify their actions, no matter how deplorable. This would make for a great book club read as there are many discussions around morals and class warfare. (Some crude language.)

Picked this up after readin her newer book Girls and their Horses Didn't like it as much mainly cause of the premise. A screwed up marriage and mother who like to play games with their tenant and ruin them. Lots of interesting plot twist
