It took me a while to get into it, the writing style was something I wasn't used to. But my God. Every single moment was heartbreaking and perfect. Of course you know what's going to happen, but somehow it's still hard to believe it does. And then the whole rest of the book after the Big Moment is so chaotic and heartfelt.

Honestly? A must read for anyone who's ever uttered the phrase "I'm not racist" but has benefited from an oppressive system.

It was just okay. The Damani’s relationship with Jolene was where things started getting interesting but even that was slightly meh.
