This book will haunt my dreams and nightmares
Even though I only got through the first 2 stories and a flick of the rest, Permafrost is a very good book. I like that it was a collection of short stories and I loved that it was by an Australian author. It is well written, and I didn’t even mind the melancholic writing style either.
My reason for the 3 stars is that the stories were left too open ended for me. I don’t mind some thought provoking reading but it was almost as though the characters were left high and dry and floundering.
I would definitely recommend it, it just wasn’t for me.
