A depressingly accurate look at the way Singapore treats domestic foreign workers. Class is the unspoken subtext of the story. Part social commentary, part mystery, I enjoyed reading about the four protagonists and their lives. 3.5 stars

Sheds light and depth on the complexity of being a domestic helper in Singapore; also enjoyed the folding in of peripheral themes/ social issues. A fast and engaging read but the interweaving of the protagonists’ plots can make it feel a bit disjointed at times. Also wished the book could have leaned into the mystery element a bit more - enjoyed those bits greatly and that was set up as the main premise in the blurb
