The Fox Family Crime Syndicate Series
Hate Me

"Marriage for love is for princesses in the fairytales, not princesses in the Mafia."

"I hate him. I hate him. I hate him. I want him. I need him."

“I can’t believe you remember that.”

“I remember every second I’ve spent with you.”

“You’re so fucking beautiful, Ef. Sometimes it feels like I can’t fucking breathe.”

“Sometimes, I think…maybe I could have kept more of my humanity if I had shared it with you. Even if only for one night.”

I love the idea of childhood friends to Enemies to lovers, because you have to know the journey will be a rocky and emotional one and I was right. It was a rollercoaster of emotion and I got pulled along with the ride. I had all the feelings for these two.

The angst and hate that Finn and Elffie have are addicting to read. Their past is so complicated which is continuing to make this rocky for them both. The things that come out of this man's mouth are priceless. These fox men know how to talk to their women.

They have their work cut out for them but just the chemistry alone you know their love will be explosive. That's if they can stop making mistakes that hurt each other every chance they get. But when they have their soft moments it's everything.

There were so many swoon-worthy moments that made me fall in love with this book and the character so much more and it begins and ends with the lake.

Side note: reading this book with the Spotify Playlist I have officially found my new favorite song.

I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review of Hate Me by Summer O'Toole.

Hate Me is the second book in The Fox Family Crime Syndicate series, the first book is Make Me. This is a dark romance with graphic scenes which might trigger some people! So do proceed with caution! So Hate Me is marriage of convenience/arranged marriage romance, with childhood friends who turned into enemies and then into lovers (one of my rare favourites).

Finneas Fox, the MMC, and Effie Luciano, the FMC, their families were at a war with each other before a truce was settled, but now that truce is yet on the verge of breaking, will Finn who has been hardened by his father's death, and Effie manage to seal the Crack between two families?

Finneas makes Effie hate her, but when the chapter shifts to Finn's pov, we know that HE CARES and he doesn't want to show that gentle side (which only comes out for Effie) to anyone and thus does things that annoys Effie. Great way to start

This book was so good! It was angsty, captivating, emotional, intense, and I could not get enough of it! This friends-to-strangers-to-enemies-to-lovers, dark mafia romance had everything. The spice, banter, action, and angst was phenomenal. This book was perfection and I need to go back to read the first book!
