extrem langweilig, es ist die ganze zeit nichts passiert, aber dafür kenn ich jetzt die komplette lebensgeschichte von allen bewohnern dieser stadt in allen einzelheiten, nach der ich nicht gefragt hatte. keine ahnung was das ziel dieses buchs war, ob es einfach eine dystopie beschreiben oder irgendwie gesellschaftskritik üben wollte, rübergekommen ist davon leider überhaupt nichts. es gab auch zero überraschungen oder interessante plot twists. vielleicht (vermutlich) ist es auch ihr schreibstil, der mich nicht gefällt, aber mit fällt ehrlich nicht eine sache ein, die mir an dem buch gefallen hät. die prämisse war relativ interessant, wurde aber null ausgearbeitet oder weiterentwickelt, nur um sie am ende nicht ausreichend aufzulösen. es wurden viel zu viele charaktere detailliert eingeführt, die im weiteren verlauf der geschichte keinerlei (tragende) rolle gespielt haben.

So I started reading this and couldn't get into it so I brought the audio book. It felt like a love letter to women and something to draw attention to women and their lives and struggles.

<Spoiler> The ending was kind of anti-climatic which I my only draw back of the entire book, however I understand the ending and why it needed to be that way. I would have liked a bit more explaining about Evie and who she was and who sent her. <Spoiler>
