The Secret Garden is a true classic. The setting is in the 1900s in Yorkshire, England where two children discover the "Magic" of a secret garden. In the beginning, Mary, the main character is bitter, pouty, and spoiled. Colin, her cousin, was the same exact thing, but even more so from his 10 years of getting his every wish. As the story progresses, its obvious how much he characters have changed and the way the author slowly transforms the children into kind-hearted, caring people. The ending is at times rushed, but emotional. It is almost like Dickens' ending of a Christmas Carol. Overall, this book shows that miracles can happen if you truly believe in yourself.
