It took me a little while to get into this one but there were some interesting themes. I didn't like the main character at all at first, although I grew to understand her better.
I find unreliable narrators interesting. n this case, she never quite reaches the point of understanding herself so some things are left only in the reader's interpretation. I went back and reread the first chapter after finishing to fill in some of the blanks. The characters were well drawn and their relationships felt real (although generally toxic).

Moderate: Child death, Car accident, Death of parent, War, Toxic relationship, Terminal illness, Injury/Injury detail, Fatphobia, Emotional abuse, Classism, Body shaming, and Alcohol
Minor: Homophobia

This is a real gem of a Big House book, on the dark comedy vanguard of being a gothic. Call it Shirley Jackson in Ireland with a smirk. Both infuriating and totally satsifying. I loved it.
