This book has been loved and reviewed thousands of times so I'm not going to reinvent the wheel. But wow, wow, wow. Definitely in the top 5 for the year. Romantic, fast-paced, poetic... *sigh*

i had to force myself to keep reading this book in hopes that i would cry at the end like most people say they do but i just couldn’t it was so boring! also not to mention the historical inaccuracies.

alternatively, there were some good quotes and tension during the fight scenes. BUT i didn’t read this for the action scenes i read it for the captivating relationship between achilles and patroclus. never once did they tell each other they loved each other and i felt more emotion towards other characters (like my hate towards agamemnon and love for briseis).

overall very overhyped and i’m quite disappointed

Wonderful book and retelling of the Iliad. This book had me engaged from the moment I picked it up. Madeline Miller does an excellent job getting you into the characters and making you care about what happens to them. This book will take you on a ride through so many emotions. Highly recommend!
