Even though I already knew the story of Patroclus and Achilles, as a lover of Greek Mythology, this book was so damn good. I’m sitting here, crying my eyes out, and just sent a video of me crying about the book to my best friend that read it before me, and I am not okay. I felt very passive when reading Circe but this book? I will always hold it dearly in my heart. Of course, if you do not like or care for Greek Mythology, you may not feel the same, and I will not urge you to read a book retelling mythology that you would not care for. But if you have been interested in reading it, please do. The romance, the angst, the anger it induces, and the utter grief. It is all worth it.

An absolutely gorgeous book that I can't wait to read again and again! I loved the premise of this book, a reimagining of one of the classic tale of one of the greatest heroes of the Trojan War, was sure to be amazing.

Madeline Miller did not disappoint! I loved the dichotomy between Achilles and Petroclus. They make each other better in a way that only true lovers can. There were so many quotes throughout the book that had me catching my breath while listening to a great narration. I can't wait to read this again in paper copy so I can continue to admire the prose for years to come! This is easily one of my favourite books for its beauty that reminds you that great writing is art.

"And perhaps it is the greater grief, after all, to be left on earth when another is gone." -Chiron

"In the darkness two shadows reaching through the hopeless, heavy dusk. Their hands meet and light spills in a food like a hundred golden urns pouring out of the sun" -Madeline Miller
