I finally read The Song of Achilles after seeing it all over Tik Tok and hearing my friends talk about it, and I am so glad I did. Having rarely read Greek mythology after my Percy Jackson days, it was easy and fun to step back into this world. I absolutely adored the characters, and the slow build made this book hurt in all the best ways. Even though readers hear Achilles' prophecy long before reaching its fulfillment, the knowledge of what is to come does not soften the blow when reading this heartbreaking story. I laughed, I smiled, I cried. Absolutely loved this book.

An absolutely gorgeous book that I can't wait to read again and again! I loved the premise of this book, a reimagining of one of the classic tale of one of the greatest heroes of the Trojan War, was sure to be amazing.

Madeline Miller did not disappoint! I loved the dichotomy between Achilles and Petroclus. They make each other better in a way that only true lovers can. There were so many quotes throughout the book that had me catching my breath while listening to a great narration. I can't wait to read this again in paper copy so I can continue to admire the prose for years to come! This is easily one of my favourite books for its beauty that reminds you that great writing is art.

"And perhaps it is the greater grief, after all, to be left on earth when another is gone." -Chiron

"In the darkness two shadows reaching through the hopeless, heavy dusk. Their hands meet and light spills in a food like a hundred golden urns pouring out of the sun" -Madeline Miller
