Oof I knew Vitaly was going to be spicy, fierce and unexpected but oh baby add on his possessiveness and it made for a fantastic book. Also when every book comes with a new Russian nickname for the FMC it makes my heart race in all the best ways. Forced to marry a woman who has only know trauma and violence, he takes his time convincing her that she is safe and loved and that his chosen family is also hers now.

I'm halfway through book five so can confidently say this was the best of the series for me. Vitaly is the star of the series in my opinion. He's not really my usual type, but he's been the highlight throughout. At this point, I am sick of the same formula being used through all of the first four (Virgin female, she has a Russian nickname he's given her, she wants sex but he doesn't want to hurt her and makes her wait, they exchange some orgasms before he finally gives in, she's pregnant pretty much the first time they have sex).

Even the characters know it's going to happen because Vitaly joked in book three "you've been dating for like a week now, so that's gotta be a family record. Shouldn't she already be pregnant with a ring around her finger?" and "Oh, I know exactly where it's going. Another pregnant sister-in-law is where this train's headed." Some variety was definitely needed, still this one was great even though it basically followed the same formula.

Series/Order: Melnikov Bratva # 4
Genre: Mafia Romance
Tropes: Morally Gray Hero, Forced Proximity, Forced/arranged Marriage, Possessive Hero, Protective Hero, Touch her and die, found family, Virgin Heroine, Age Gap (7 years)
