This was interesting and I loved its message about rewilding the environment. That being said, I'm still demoting it to 2.5 stars because of what happened to Fingal. I have a border collie, so I took that personally. Also, there is no fucking way that Duncan would not arrest Aggie. She slit his throat and murdered his dog, but he excuses it because she's sick? No amount of previous trauma excuses murdering innocent good boys.
Gillade första halvan mer än andra. Fina målande beskrivningar av naturen och vargarna. Gillade delen med deras pappa och hur kärleken och livet i skogen beskrevs. Slutet blev hastigt och lite väl överdrivet. Inte så bra plot twist

charlotte mcconaghy creates such a captivating atmosphere through her writing. i always enjoy the environmental focus of her books. the story comes to life in the way she evokes such empathy with its characters. however, some chapters felt flat. it took too long for it to pick up (only during the last 20%). even inti’s character growth felt rushed in the last quarter of the book. aggie’s ending could’ve had more potential.

Another well-written, atmospheric novel that combines lit fit with a mystery in a setting where nature and the wild serve as a character.

I loved the literary style of this book. I felt enthralled by the Scottish countryside and the wolves themselves. The characters were (mostly) compelling and overall I was interested the majority of the time. While the twin relationship kind of gave me the heebee-jeebies, I liked the plot development and watching the way things changed in their twin dynamic over time. I’ve gone back and forth over the ending for days, but would absolutely recommend to a friend. Put this at the top of your mystery list!
