FANTASTISK BOG

✧ Review ✧
Title: Reminders of Him
Author: Colleen Hoover
Pages: 335
Genre: Contemporary romance
I feel really disappointed. I went into this expecting to enjoy it, maybe even enjoy it more than Verity… but it felt predictable and the writing wasn’t great (coho fans don’t attack me).
We follow Kenna, an ex-con who served time for the manslaughter of her boyfriend Scotty. Five years later, she’s out of prison and looking to reunite with her daughter Diem, one problem, Scotty’s parents have custody of Diem and won’t allow Kenna to meet her.
Don’t get me wrong, it was an easy read and I was invested enough to want to finish it but I’m starting to realise that Colleen
Hoover’s books are pretty hit and miss..
I’m also starting to realise that I don’t find her female protagonist very likeable. They’re always in horrible situations and I feel for them on that level, but as people and their personalities… they’re all kind of annoying.
I was expecting to love Ledger, but no. We knew virtually nothing about him other than he points at things a lot.. he was set up to be a great leading man but it fell short for me.
I have only seen rave reviews for this book and I’m disappointed that I didn’t love it like everyone else. The ending was wrapped up so quickly and imo ruined the whole book. It felt we were building to something bigger and then were let down in the last 40 pages.
There’s just sadly nothing special about this book. Also, 9 times out of 10, I hate the names CoHo gives her characters!!

This book had my jaw on the floor and my attention immediately after chapter 5. What an amazing story. Unlike any other I’ve heard. I was on edge the whole time trying to figure out what the ending of this book was going to be. Highly, highly recommend this to anyone. Such an amazing read!! Exceeded whatever expectation I had because I went into it blind. I didn’t even read the back of the book.
