For a topic which spans continents and centuries, this book felt incredibly well-researched and comprehensive throughout. The idea itself, to look at the lives of these storytellers, was really fascinating. This whole book also benefitted from the natural storytelling of the author. I felt completely drawn into the time and place of each storyteller. I would recommend to anyone with an interest in fairy tales!

We learn about the Grimm brothers, and Hans Christian Andersen, but what about others? History and biography are woven through this examination of fairytale tellers through centuries and continents.
