I really enjoyed this book and the twist!
Some other reviews pointed out potential transphobia and while, that was not my interpretation, I do think it’s a valid feeling/concern to have after reading. So please proceed with caution if that would be triggering to you.

A very easy read and, in my opinion, a great novel for readers showing interest in the horror genera. I think it’s more speculative but maybe that’s good for a beginner. Those of us who are looking for jarring horror and/or extreme moments will be left wanting, sans 1ish scene.
This story has a great outline with supporting elements and explanations for literally every aspect. It’s an easy read, but a little slow in regards to the thriller and horror lens readers. The concept is catchy as are the twists. There are gentile foreshadows for the progression and the reveals are done fine. There’s a bit of a heavy religious character point which I took pains to look past and is rewarded during one of the reveals (which I hope encourages…well I digress). There’s good realistic parallels to drug abuse and steps of sobriety. The book itself is entertaining due to the pictures provided to enhance the feelings.
