Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy:
This is the introduction to the saga, now a trilogy in 6 parts, which as the book blurb says, brings a new meaning to the word trilogy.

It centres around Arthur Dent, an unassuming man who works in radio, and is trying to prevent his house being bulldozed when an old friend Ford Prefect pops into his life, from this point on, Arthur and Ford end up travelling across the galaxy, and meeting various different characters. Arthur seems to just accept that his life has changed. There are some excellent bits of writing where representitives of the union of thinkers are upset about potentially being out of a job, due to a new thinking computer, but happy when it points out it will take millenia to conjugate the answer to the question, what is the point of it all. The humour is very British and in places quite sarcastic. Overall I enjoyed the first book and its a good starting point for the series,

Though some of the chapters are short, think 1 paragraph long in some cases, it being written as a way of creating a novel from the radio series of the same name, means each chapter feels like a single scene, the further into the book you get. When the inital chapters contain a lot of scenes and dialog, ultimately well worth a read.
funny lighthearted

my favorite series!!! so funny and the poster child for all sci-fi satire. Douglas Adams' writing style is gripping and makes each sentence entertaining by itself! 10/10

While this is maybe my 3rd time through this omnibus edition, I found the last book, “So Long, and Thanks for all the Fish” to be a touching and grounded coda to the universe-hopping series.

Douglas Adams ages very well, I’ll be excited to tackle this again in the next decade!

Douglas Adams is brilliant and so is this compilation. Who else could give you a "more than complete" guide?
