Sierra Burns, 25, has been controlled her whole life by her mother. Used like a pawn by her mother, Cece, to further their riches, Sierra is at her breaking point. On vacation on a private island off Hawaii, Sierra meets Parker McCallister, whose family owns the island. She is instantly attracted to him, but Parker works on the island, and therefore does not meet her mother's high ideals.

Parker McCallister is known for being a playboy and a scoundrel but he is ready to leave that behind him after a devastating break-up leaves him looking for the right girl to settle down with. As soon as he meets Sierra he knows that she may be the one for him.

Cece is opposed to Sierra making her own decisions but after a serious altercation between the two, Sierra is completely left to fend for herself. Sierra must now learn to think for herself and gain back the self-esteem she has been without for so many years.

As Sierra and Parker begin a relationship they must deal with all of the insecurities that Sierra has towards herself and Parker. Then they are faced with a sudden change to their lives that neither could have foreseen and they will see whether or not their relationship is strong enough to prevail.

I loved both of the characters and even though Sierra may seem like she is weak, after all the mental anguish she has suffered it is not surprising! The McCallister family is so genuine and would definitely be a family that I would love to join!!
