I’m obsessed with this book. I learned so much about racism and education in our country. And it’s such an easy and fascinating read! Highly recommend.

I don’t have children, but loved this book anyway. As much as this is about and honest exploration of one mother and one family intentionally leading a moral life, it’s a call for all to support public education, wherever we are, however we can.

A lot to unpack here. I liked the style and memoir-ish feel. The problems that are in Oakland schools are in similar to how I feel navigating the school system and my children’s future.
