Very moving and heartbreaking. Very very very sad. I had to take a couple deep breaths after the last scene. Literally can't believe it ended like that. :/

The cuts between present day and past events weren't as effective as it could have been and often served to take me out of the story instead of being captivating. Overall very beautiful and moving.

graphic novel about the tragedy of seperated families during the korean war. lovely artwork but the characterization is a bit flat. the recounting of the mother's war memories is effective, but the framing device with the present time doesn't add enough.
