N.E.W.T.s Readathon 2019

“You were the sun, and I was crashing into you.”

I've built this book up in my mind so much, that I was worried it would end up disappointing me, but it was even better than I ever could've imagined.

Baz is my favorite character (obviously, when do I not love a sympathetic vampire?), and I loved the dynamic between him and Simon. They were honestly one of my favorite parts about this whole book.

The story was a lot of fun and really interesting, even though I did kind of figure out most of the twists way before they were revealed. I think that just speaks even more to how good it was though. I really liked most of the characters... just not Agatha. I found her to be annoying, rude, and just generally unlikable. Penelope was exactly what I needed to counteract that though; I love super intelligent, witty characters.

The ending left a little to be desired, but hopefully that will be settled a bit more with the sequel. (CAN'T WAIT FOR WAYWARD SON!!!!!!!!)

Ese final lo salvó, creo, aunque también sospecho que tiene mucho que ver el mood en el que estaba.

While the book may have been too meta for some, I thought it was adorable. But then, I enjoy most of what Rainbow Rowell writes, so that probably helped. It's kind of a ridiculous book, but it's the good kind of ridiculous.

I have just finished the book and it becomes my new fav book.
It has not been a long time since I have finished reading "Eleanor and Park" and can't deny that I was afraid that this book will be boring because everyone said that it's so different from "Eleanor and Park", but honestly I couldn't put the book after I got into it, the storyline is amazing: magic, vampires, love and betrayal, friendship, foe or ally, everything is there, that it doesn't even make a sense anymore.
Got to discover a lot of new things in the depths of the story only at the end, and it only made me more excited.
In conclusion, I fill in love with the book, and I think I will go to read another "RAINBOW ROWELL" book, guess I have become a new fan of her :)

by the way at the beginning I couldn't stop comparing it with Harry Potter serious (I am my self a hardcore hp fan), the two stories at the end are really different; let's be honest if there is magical school, a chosen boy, principal with a twisted personality, evil and peace who wouldn't think of Hp??

*** A must-read for fantasy, vampires and magic world fans

This book was amazing. Drop what you’re doing and read it now. Another Rainbow Rowell knockout.

I had a very hard time with this book. I kept putting it down and picking it back up and getting frustrated. It sounded SO MUCH like a knock off Harry Potter and it was SO slow moving. It took forever to get anything going, the first I would say third of this book is just building the world and relationships, while also not really giving you anything. I don't know if you're required to read Fangirl before this (I did not, still haven't) to get the feel of the main two and know what's sort of going on, because It feels like the book expects you to know everything out right and I was so so so lost. It was one of those books though that I wanted to keep reading even though I dreaded picking up the book, just because everyone was saying good things about it. I didn't love it, I didn't hate it. I would certainly not recommend it to anyone I know and I won't re-read it. I will reluctantly read the sequel because I am a completest and I cannot help it.

Caused my breakup to actualise ‘cause it started a heated argument but I liked the book a lot!

My only points of criticism when I read it was that the story is kind of flat until Baz comes in and that the spells were a little too goofy.

Otherwise the developments of romance were good and the ending was satisfying (gonna pretend the second book doesn’t exist).
