I love learning about the enneagram so was looking forward to listening to this book and learning more. I didn’t feel it was the right fit for me. Felt like the tone was making fun at the different types.

The exploration of the enneagram numbers is solid, but the tone of this book just ruined it for me. The excessive cultural references and profanity made it seem like it was trying too hard, rather than making it accessible and relevant.

A fun and rather unique look at the Enneagram. After reading this, I'm still not entirely certain what number I am as all of them felt like they could be me. That's not a complaint or a criticism though, more of an observation. Her writing is humorous and profane, which I liked but may turn others off. Worth a look, particularly if you aren't familiar with the Enneagram.

If you, like me, are low-key obsessed with the Enneagram, this is the perfect new tool for exploration. It’s snarky, honest, and filled with examples of the Enneagram at work in the real world. The type quiz is quick and accessible in a way that the standard quizzes are not, so if you’re just beginning your discovery this is a good place to start. I think the best part of Paasch’s window into the Enneagram is the section on how others see/perceive and work with your type — as a type 3, it was helpful to reflect on how others might view my work habits as stand-offish or secretive whereas I view my work habits as efficient and controlled. Anyway — a great read on one of my favorite things!

I really wanted to like this one. I’ve read a lot on the enneagram and was excited that this one would be a new perspective. While Milleneagram offered a basic overview of the enneagram and a non-faith based perspective, I was disappointed by the angsty tone and condescending attitude towards entire numbers. As someone who loves to use the enneagram as a tool for personal growth, this book felt unkind. I would not recommend this to anyone looking to dive deeper into the enneagram as a first reference. Way better content exists elsewhere.

Hannah Paasch’s explanation of the Enneagram is accessible as ... well, fill in the swear word of your choice. The book has lots of them, so bear that in mind, whether that makes it more appealing or is off-putting for you. I appreciated her characterization of the types and particularly the sub-types, as well as the variations for each number’s potential wings. Paasch’s writing voice is funny and sympathetic and deeply insightful.

The book itself is gorgeous, a real pleasure to hold in your hands.

A fresh, funny and snarky take on the Enneagram. I don't know if I would have liked it had I not already known a lot about the Enneagram, though. I thought her stories were funny and some had me laughing out loud.
