I wanted to like it more than I did. The world building was great, but half the characters fell flat, and it didn’t have anything new to say about wealth inequality. I think it would make a great tv show.

The pacing of this book was weird. Finally, when all the characters connect, there was <10% of the book left. I didn’t find any of the characters likable, and honestly was kind of rooting for all of them to fail. The diversity of characters was cool, and the plot had so much potential to be awesome, but the characters felt bland, unbelievable, and not interesting.

Blatant ableism against a character with no awareness of it being a problem-narrative suggests it’s okay to talk about someone with cognitive disabilities that way

it just felt like reading through cement. i felt like i could get a visual and then the next descriptions would keep changing the way i pictured the setting/story. i think the book could have really benefitted from some visual assistance.

Picked this book up for "out of my comfort zone" and found the overall reading experience quite enjoyable. I found the plot to be a little chaotic at times, since there were so many different characters involved.

Great premise. I think the execution was a little…tidy, though I appreciated the open-ended ending
