This book showed at up my doorstep with an amazingly sweet signed card from the author Liane Carmen. I won it in a goodreads giveaway and barely knew what to expect. I must admit I was a bit lost at first as there was so many storylines that I had no idea how these storylines were going to blend together. However it was beautifully written and kept me super intrigued. It wasn’t until the end chapters when I literally said out loud “OHHHHHH NOW THIS ALL MAKES SENSE”. I quickly sped through the last chapters and was thoroughly satisfied with how it all tied together. If you want a quick, and interesting read that covers a subject that is not frequently covered hurry to get this one!!

Where the truth hides by Liane Carmen

This is a whirlwind of a story about 2 women, Becky and Jules. Best friends…. Two very different lives yet you can feel the love they have for each other.

Jules is adopted and desperate to find her birth parents. She needs to know why she was given up… Becky has everything in her life except the child she so desperately craves.. A car crash sends Becky’s life into a never ending nightmare she can’t seem to wake up from.

This book had me guessing the whole time. I am usually very good at figuring the ending out but not this time. I simply had no clue! My eyes were burning by the end of it because I couldn’t put it down. My husband was like, good read and it took all my might to not cover his mouth from talking! If you are looking for the kind of read that gets your cogs turning and your heart rate up then this is the one for you! This is probably one of the best debut novels I have read in a very long time. The author has so much talent and I am excited to see what else she comes up with!

I would have liked a little more descriptiveness and a little less dialogue but it is actually very well balanced and Liane’s imagination is a place everyone needs to sink into! I cannot wait to read the next installment!

I am a fan for life now and I highly recommend grabbing a copy, a glass of wine and no distractions. You can thank me later! I give this one a solid 4 stars!

Loved it! Great writing, excellent story, great characters. I sort of figured some of it out before the end, but not all of it. As someone is has been researching my family tree (and recently did my own DNA test, where I've discovered a few of my own family secrets), I found the story even more intriguing. Very good!

An amazing thriller that left me hanging on the edge of my seat, and left me hooked trying to figure out what would happen next.
I found that their was so many twists throughout the story that it kept me guessing the whole way and the ending left me wanting more.
I also loved the real life topics that are amongst the book, helping the main character and her life and stuff she encounters feel more life like and real.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Becky and Jules knew from the moment they met they would be friends forever. Creating a bond like no other; time nor distance has been able to pull them apart. Now adults, they turn the page to reveal the next chapter; they just never expected what comes next…

An exuberant tale, Liane Carmen keeps readers guessing in Where the Truth Hides. Combining the intricacies of realistic occurrences with a plethora of what-ifs, Liane creates a riveting story around connections found through DNA testing.

Add in the minimal spelling and grammatical errors, and one will read cover to cover without a thought of putting it down. However, a considerable quantity of profane language results in a less than perfect rating. So, a 4 out of 5 stars is awarded.

Please read with caution if any of the following may cause you distress: adoption, car accident, anxiety, invitro fertilization (IVF), infertility, memory loss, mood swings, personality changes, flooding, hurricane, abandonment, deceit, betrayal, heart attack, silent stroke, dementia, paranoia, break-in, Alzheimer’s, IV sedation, thievery, depression, gun violence, bullying, alcohol and drug consumption, affair, phobias, binding, murder, jail, or hostage.

A suspenseful thriller, Where the Truth Hides is a novel that grabs hold and does not let go.

This is my first book by this author and I loved it from beginning to end. It is a well written story that has characters that bring the story to life. I had no problems connecting with the characters and they made the story easy for me to read. The twists and turns left me sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what would happen next. This is a fast paced story that I had a hard time putting down. I highly recommend this book.

I was enthralled by the description of the book and it delivered. It was more of a exploration of people rather than a thriller but brilliant and a great read.

I was given an advance copy by the author and Voracious readers but the review is entirely my own.

Great read from a new author

This was a very well written novel from this new author. It was an easy read and hard to put down. Sometimes there are family secrets you might not want to know about. I look forward to reading additional stories in this series.
