This one was really excellent. Tana French gets better with each book, and I'm very pleased that this story had s much clearer, slightly more definitive ending than her other works. It may not have been wrapped up nicely or ethically in a pretty package (this is a crime novel after all) but by golly, it was wrapped up.

I read this book during a time when I was alone in my house. I would stay up late and read until well past the time I should have been asleep. I can say this: it really has an eerie feel and creeped me out. I kept wanting to get to the bottom of each mystery but alas, every time I received an answer to one I kept going with the thought of "but what about..." I have read all of Tana French's novels so far in the series and each one creates such a rich tapestry of involvement. What I enjoy most about each new story is her character insight and development. By the end of each book I feel like I know that character inside and out. This book was probably my favorite thus far in the series and I have high expectations for the next one, hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

I would like to have cut a minimum of 50 pages of this book. She seemed to kill every dramatic turn with pages and pages of exposition that just reiterated what we already knew of the characters. I literally skimmed the last 10 pages because it was endless and dull. I liked what she tried to do plot wise and am sad for the book this one could have been.
Everything Tana French writes is brilliant. End of story. Another suspenseful as hell mystery. Can't say too much without giving away spoilers. I am enjoying this current trend in literature to tackle the societal and psychological impact of the market crash of 2008. Great, great, great read.
Not as gripping as the first two books, but not terrible either.
