Stand Alone. M/F. Adult Contemporary Romance.
What is it? The new librarian, Livia, is turning 30 soon and she sees it as a death sentence. She wants to have a baby but she also wants to swear off on relationships and men. Upon meeting the hottest guy she’s ever seen, a cop named Chase, she decides that she wants him to become her baby daddy. Chase, a known playboy, agrees to proposition and to give up his parental rights to the child but what happens when they both want to have more than just sex?
May be better for: those who like a lot of smut (I mean I do but I don’t like it when the sex scenes just end up adding anything to the story unless it’s a novella where I expect the whole focus to be smut), those interested in the summary, alpha male enthusiasts

Why did this book get on my nerves so damn much? Two of my favourite authors and I am left feeling bored after finishing this.
This didn't reach my expectations. Not even a little bit.
Livia got on my nerves. Like a lot. I didn't like her from the start. As the story progressed, I disliked her even more. I didn't get her attitude. She was so closed off and it felt hopeless. I wanted her to wake up and just admit it all. The push and pull got on my nerves.
Not the type of woman characters that I like.
Chase was one hot cop indeed. His sexiness and allure was captivating. I liked him. He has one hell of a dirty mouth and it added to the story. It was the best thing about this book if you ask me.
It felt like their love surprised them both. They fought it for so long and I just sighed loudly when they finally ended up together.
Their chemistry was perfection. This made the book somehow enjoyable.
A librarian and a hot cop? Fantasies turning real.

I cannot stress out how SEXY and HOT and PANTY MELTING this book was for me. I finished it in one sitting and I could not stress out enough how this book almost made me want to burst out in sweat and excitement per say...
God, it was the best thing I needed right now after a few disappointing books from my beloved authors (talking about Tycoon here). But yeah, this makes me excited about books again goddammit! I only wish I could end up with the same hot cop like this librarian did.
Off to another fiction world... I'm itching for some action criminal mystery romance after this. See ya!

This is an erotic romance that does not have a dom/sub relationship and let me just tell you how happy I am about that: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hot Cop is a contemporary romance by Laurelin Paige and one of my absolute favorite authors (Sierra Simone) about a librarian who falls in love with a cop. I appreciated so many things about this book, but one of those things is that Chase's sister is married to a black man and they have two kids, which has led Chase to think a lot about the way black men especially are treated by cops. Chase is a huge advocate for body cameras on police officers because of this and this line of thinking made him a much more appealing hero to me than he would have been otherwise.
I also really liked Livia who I found remarkably relatable despite the fact that she's convinced she's about to die because she's 30. Livia, like me, really wants to have a child, but (also like me) is really wary of men. So when Chase persists in asking her out, she agrees to a date, and then asks him to help her have a child that he'll agree to have nothing to do with. Of course, this doesn't exactly go as planned, but I really loved the push-pull nature of Livia and Chase's relationship. This book was a fun read and a well-written one. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a sexy contemporary romance novel.
