Solid 4 star sci-fi book. Enjoyed the characters, the trans love interest, critique of how fascist societies view women's bodies. Not planning to read the sequel.

This book feels like a hug. So much comfort. I adored Pendt, Ned, and Fisher, and the universe and magic were very fascinating. I hope there's a sequel in the works!

This book...well...I didn't really enjoy it. It wasn't really what I'd expected it to be. There were several things that made me uncomfortable. And the whole pregnancy thing was kind of weird. I still don't know the reason for that Fisher King story in the book (I'm now thinking about Merlin). Plus I'd liked it if the promised queerness of the characters would have been more prominent. But I liked the song quotes at the beginning of each part.

I quite enjoyed this. Its definitely YA. Good to see a content warning at the very beginning for EDs but probably need extras as deals with a number of very heavy topics .
Characters were likeable and they didn't feel too overdone. The story had enough world building to understand the plot and it felt like it was the first in a series.
It was written is a fairly light way considering how dark some of the themes were.

I enjoyed the first half more than the second. The second felt a bit disconnected from the first.

I am really not sure how I feel. I think the idea is good but it wasn't worked with enough. The relationships felt weird, the end seemed rushed. It was very uncomfortable? As if the author was also not wanting to focus on the subject too much. It came off a little weak when it came to plot. The world is interesting. But it kinda seems unpolished.

I have changed my review due to the author's racism and islamaphobia
