It was good- had some good ideas and ways to bond couples on a deeper level - but some of it was kind of like, I just felt she was making things up. Still an interesting concept to try.

I really loved this book, it was fun and funny. I think it is good for both those who neeed help in their relationships and those who want to add a little fun. I will have to get my own copy and have my husband read it, to see if he wants to play! Thanks to the friend who let me borrow it.

I have read books on this subject (coughsexcough) before. I have disliked many (see my review on [b:Sheet Music Uncovering the Secrets of Sexual Intimacy in Marriage|65364|Sheet Music Uncovering the Secrets of Sexual Intimacy in Marriage|Kevin Leman|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1347289244s/65364.jpg|63413] and usually it is because they are written from a man's point of view, and a Christian man's at that. As women, we have always been told that some things are our responsibility and other things should be avoided to remain chaste. Rules change in a marriage and partnerships are formed, but many books I have read still place duty, responsibility, and guilt squarely on women's shoulders.

[As an aside, why can't a man write a sex-in-marriage book for other men that they will read? It should explain how awesome their sex life AND their marriage will be if they just saw helping out and doing chores as foreplay. And also, being a great Dad is super sexy. Okay. Maybe a book isn't needed. Just a paragraph.]

On first glance The Forty Beads method seems like another duty-filled directive for women on how to rock their husband's world... but this time with a form of payment involved! Honestly though, this book did not make me feel cheap or whoreish like some other reads (again, see this review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/199398407). Carolyn Evans writes from a marital perspective and she has found a way to involve both partners in efforts to make the marriage better.

What I loved about this book was that Carolyn Evans got me. I nodded my head the whole way through. "What? You feel like that? I do too!" "Really? Your husband does that? Mine does too!". The book is light and funny and left me feeling encouraged and excited instead of overwhelmed and guilty.

If anyone wants to read a book that will enhance their marriage and their sex life, this will be the book I recommend.
